988 Reimagined: Finding People Before Crisis Finds Them — Pairing Digital Health and Peer Support to Prevent Suicide

Possible Always is excited to announce that our team will be presenting at CrisisCon 2026 on Wednesday, October 7.

Our session, “988 Reimagined: Finding People Before Crisis Finds Them — Pairing Digital Health and Peer Support to Prevent Suicide,” will explore how the future of crisis care can move beyond response alone and toward earlier identification, deeper connection, and sustained pathways to recovery.

The session will be presented by Hannah Hackworth, Possible Always Co-Founder and Executive Director; Jason Kimmins, Possible Always Co-Founder and Executive Director of Operations; and Marcos Sanchez-Gonzalez, MD, PhD, VP of Medical & Scientific Affairs at QHSLab.

Together, we will explore an emerging model that pairs digital health technology, engagement tools, peer support, and a public health suicide prevention framework to help identify individuals who may be moving toward risk earlier — before crisis takes hold.

For too long, crisis systems have been built primarily around response. While timely crisis response remains essential, the next phase of 988 and suicide prevention must also ask a deeper question:

What would it look like to find and support people before they ever reach the point of crisis?

This session will explore how digital health and peer support can expand the upstream impact of the 988 ecosystem by creating low-barrier digital touchpoints, strengthening protective factors, improving early identification, and building pathways from prevention to support to crisis care when needed.
